IT'S SEPTEMBER!!! The kids are back in school, the days are cooler and the nights
cooler yet. Before we know it, it will be Halloween, followed by Thanksgiving and on
to Christmas. I know they tell me the older we get the faster the years go, but seriously
we need to put the brakes on.

Thank you to all who attended or supported the Corn-n-Beer Bash. We raised $1900
for the Lodge. It was immediately put to use replacing the compressor on the walk-in
cooler and repairs to the boilers so we'll have heat this winter. Thank You Thank You Thank You!
National Night Out had one of the smallest crowds we've seen. However, we managed to serve over 160 hot dogs. The kids always enjoy watching the fire dept. demonstrate cutting a car apart and crawling through the squad cars. I have a special thank you for Brother Frank Mudrak. He generously paid for the hot dogs and brats served at the Lodge Family Fun Day as well as the ones we gave out for National Night Out.

We had a great Hoghead week. Thank you to those who stepped in to help work the food tent and the beer wagon. We couldn't have done it without you. Those extra monies will go on our real estate taxes. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

Don't forget to call the Lodge to sign up for the Community Blood Drive on September 7th. Then we're off to the Annual State Convention in St. Cloud September 14-16.

If you've been to the Lodge lately, I hope you noticed the new wooden step stools in the bathrooms for our smallest guests. These were made and donated by Wayne Kratt. He has also made us a giant wooden tic-tactoe board. We stress that we are a family friendly organization and these little touches show our members and their guests we mean it.

October events include the WOTM Craft & Bake Sale Oct. 6th, Cribbage Tournament on the 13th, the Kid's Halloween party Oct 27th in the afternoon with the adult party that evening.

Just a heads up. Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner is scheduled for November 10th. If you have volunteered around the Lodge in any way the last year, this dinner is for you. Watch for the sign-up sheet in the Social Quarters. Also, that evening is the presentation of the "Lee Johnson Volunteer of the Year" award. This is an in-house award presented to one of our members (man or woman) who has gone above and beyond volunteering at the Lodge. We are looking for your nominations, a box will be set out in the SQ for your suggestions. Please be sure to include why YOU think they should be considered, maybe they are doing or taking care of something we are not aware of. Remember current officers and paid employees are not eligible.

See ya around the Lodge.
