From the Office…

Holy Cow!! July already? While we are halfway through the calendar year, we are only two months into the Moose year. I am happy to report we did indeed end the year in a plus for membership. A plus 3 in fact and already we have enrolled 7 for the new Moose year. Way to Go Proctor Lodge!

While we are doing much better both in membership and financially, we are still operating on a shoestring budget until we have wiped out our past due obligations. Therefore we have been looking for creative ways to increase our community service without breaking the bank. So far, we have lent the hall to the community band for practice, and the Historical Society had a concert here. In August, our annual Na-tional Night Out is scheduled for the 1st and a rummage sale to benefit Alzheimer research will be held on Aug. 5th. If you have any suggestions please share them with an officer or better yet come to a meeting and tell us yourself.

We are continuing our search for a cost effective way to repair the roof. It is already 5 years past its life span and is really beginning to have some issues. I don't think we will have any other option but get a loan. We will let you know when the meeting to discuss this is scheduled after we have exact quotes and numbers for you.

Bubba's 18th Annual Corn and Beer Bash fundraiser is scheduled for August 12th. He will be looking for donations for the silent auction. We had some very nice stuff donated last year, so come on down this year and check it out.

Hoghead week is a very busy time for the lodge and social quarters, starting with the car show on Wednesday through the street dance on Saturday night. We are looking for some volunteers to man the food tent & beer wagon, runners for the social quarters and food tent. If you can help us out for a couple of hours or so, we would appreciate any and all help.

The annual convention is scheduled for Sept. 15-17 in Aitkin, close enough for a lot of you to attend. At this point I'm not sure what is all up for vote but will keep you advised. Maybe some of you could attend at least one day of meetings as a delegate. Think about it, we'd love to have more representation.

See ya around the lodge.
